Since the 20th century,the disputations between Tang poetry and Song poetry in Ming poetics ,to the academic`s opinion,have became more and more important. The population of people who research this question and conduct their own thinking to this topic has added a lot.But there are still several problems:First, educational circles pay more attention to the relationship between the poetry and court administration,Secondly,they waste a lot of time on the submicroscopic researches on the works of few masters,but ignore the attitude of micro-examing in the comprehensive and systematic study of the Tang and Song poetry.The third they are used to bring in the western poetics of literary and artistic concept and methodology to explain the phenomenon of the Tang and Song poetry, carelessly classifying the Tang and Song poetry realism or romanticism.And also they superficially introduce in some Western fashion terminology,but abandoned a set of concepts, categories, regulations, properties in aesthetic taste and cultural attitudes of the Ancient Chinese Literature and Poetry. It was so called foreign things service China,but in reality ,it is procrustean.
After the founding of the People’s Republic to the 1980s,there were some specific papers which were viewed the comments of the Tang and Song poetry with Poetry perspective,such as “The disputation between Tang poetry and Song poetry in Chinese literary criticism history”by Qi Zhi Pin,this dissertation systematic study of the respective views of Ming poetry to the Tang and Song poetry. This dissertation mainly consists of four chapters:(1)Poetry in the early Ming were all imitated Tang poetry, (2)All of Seven said”poem must be the poetry of Tang”(3)The people who have advocated Song poetry since the early Ming Dynasty; (4) the Kung-an School pushed aside The Seven; According to historical sequence, each chapter documented the poetic critics who support this opinion and its specific conclusions,also extracted specific text, so that each chapter has became a systematic and detailed historical context and the historical inheritance order were also clear. However the weakness of this dissertation is also here,because the poetic critics of Ming Dynasty,such as Yang Shen, Tu Long, and so on, had two-sided views on Song poetry,so it’s very hard to completly grouped them under one faction. Moreover even the Wang Shi zhen, Xie Zhen and so forth of The Seven ,who always praised the Tang poetry and despised Song poetry,also realized and accepted some outstanding works of Song Dynasty. Therefore, such a classification will inevitably biased,so that the readers hardly understand the comprehensive ideas of the poetic critics.
After 1990s,as to disputations of the researchers between Tang poetry and Song poetry, there were specific researches and systermatic considerations which are from Hunan Normal University ‘s Mr. Cai Zhen Chu and Taiwan Cheng Kung University's Professor Zhang. Mr. Cai Zhenchu's “Poetics Studies” ,and“Chinese Poetics and the reseraches on Tang and Song Poems,” “ commentary of the Ming Dynasty Poetry,” all of these works have detailed exposition on this issue,so that can established a systematical framework for the later generation to study this issue and gave a great reference to the later generation for studying, futhermore,in the ”the summary of poetry” by Mr Liu De Zhong and Mr Zhang Yin Pen, the there also has specific discusstion on this issue in chapter 4,and has scientific understanding for the argument in Ming poetry which had impacted on the disputation between Tang poetry and Song poetry in early Qing Dynasty,and the later generation were inspired by this scientific understanding.yet Mr. Zhang Gaoping ,in his "Poetry studies" ,were listed in the rheological study of the poetics of 42 topics, clearly marked the disputation between Tang poetry and Ming Song poetry, the disputation between the poetics of following the Song poetry and Tang Song poetry as major themes, so that later researchers pay more attention to this issue, the study team has also greatly increased and the level has also been very significant improvement.
Moreover in his “The study of characteristics of Song poetry”.he also proposed a series of pioneering and innovation about Song poetry,such as broken body of poetry and so forth,,and with evaluation of these developing in the poetry,to prove the Song poetry brought positive significance to the development of poetry,therefore, it provided a lot of very good research ideas for the later research teams of Song poetry. There had been quite a lot of papers and monographs on this issue.such as “The Dissertation Of Tang and Song poetry in Ming poetry”by Qiu Mei Qiong and Hu Jian Ci which were published by ‘Jiangxi Institute of Education paper(Social Science)” in April,2004 .This article is to examine that how to construct the reviews on Tang and Song poetry in Ming poetics which were considered as a transitional link. It has seen the important contribution of Ming poetics as a transitional period,moreover it also has seen situation of the Tang poetry coexist with and mutual struggle against dissent Poetry during the specific period. But it didn’t extend the specific academic problems of discussion and valuable from poetics,it was still a simple repetition of previous works that were listed a stationary historical framework of the disputation between Tang poetry and Song poetry. Yet “The evolution of disputation of Tang and Song poetry in Ming Parnassus”by Zhu Jian Guan which were published by “Liu Chen University Paper” in NO2,2007, still followed the old ways of previous articles that was focused on systermizing the history of poetry. However the last part of this article has some enlightenments and explanations about the particular literary phenomenon (which is firstly reclamation, towards to the normal, and then return to the biased again) on Ming poetics. In addition to talk about this issue typical papers are also contained “the talking about “there are no poetry in Song” by Zhang Li Hua and Wang Ying zhi were published by “Jiangsu Social Sciences” in NO2 2006.
This article does have its own new ideas, that Song poetry as an entry point for a specific point of view of Ming Poetics -“No Poetry In Song”, and it was obtained some of the valuable conclusions by systemizing the Song Poetics and comparing this phenomenon with “ The Song poetry Is Not Bad Than Tang poetry”,such as summarized the reason why various schools attack the Song poetry, and defined the provisions of the nature of the poetry for the people who support “No Poetry In Song”. There are some positive significances from these studys of Chinese poetry. But the problem of “No Poetry In Song” in this article is still somewhat restraint,it’s hard to grasp the overall view of Ming poetry to the Song poetry and not paid attention to combine the assurance of Macroscopic view with microstudy which still retain a certain regret.
In general, as to the reseraches from the academic,there are still some following problems;1,As to the researches on the disputation between Tang poetry and Song poetry,they still stucked in the big frame of historical backward,and seemed to be relatively empty; 2, Simply divided into two schools of Ming Dynasty Poetry,that were supported the Tang potry and baised the Song poetry, or supported the oppostion of this view,it didn’t seen the something in common and differences between each other.3,Foucing on the accumulation of material simply,therefore it leaded the direction of research to the historical framework. again.As to the frame of studys on poetics,there were no specific researches on many aspects of Ming poetry in detail,there were no real researches on the poetic system.
